Busy Medical Staff

Watch our busy beehive of a hospital at Town Time.
Can you ask us at home: How do nurses help us? How do doctors help us?

Shape My World

Miss Eve asked us to challenge ourselves. We were only allowed to use 10 or less shapes to make a picture.

Next time we're going to do a specific picture of someone in our community to link with our concept.

"I made a little ship. They are the boosters at the bottom and they have three windscreens. It goes to Australia." - Toby

Here are some other examples:

Jayden's Creation

This week we are activating our curiosity.

Aquatic Learning

We are curious about water, pipes and pumps. These work like taps and pipes in our houses.

Puppets and Parfaits

We, the Explorers and Discoverers, shared our learning about mechanisms. We created puppets using a simple mechanism.  We performed a song from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, "Doll On A Music Box/Truly Scrumptious".

The puppet making process was very challenging. A lot of us had to start from scratch more than once as our puppets weren't big enough.

Thank you for coming to see our learning journey.

Curiosity and Collaboration in Pounamu

What did you make James?
"I did my best plane and then I cut it out. My favourite part is the back engine and the front part."

Why did you do a plane?
"Me and Sam are making an airport together out of paper."

Céilí Dance for St Patrick's Day

Happy St Patricks Day!

Miss Muireann shared her native Irish Céilí dancing with us this afternoon.

We had to have huge growth mindsets to learn this traditional way of dancing.

Find some Irish music and get us to show you!

The moves are:

"Forward two three, hold two three, back to three, hold two three, girls swap, boys swap, right hand in the middle, turn together, back to the start!"

A Visit From Lucy

Lucy, Jessie's Rabbit visited us today. We loved looking at her brown and white fur. Her ears are really soft. Lucy hopped away into the Habitat. Maybe she wanted to learn numbers in the Town Square.

Measuring with non-standard units

Phoenix: I measured a whiteboard, it was 7 paper clips long.
