Shotover Air Show

We are doing a lot of thinking around writing this week in Skippers. We're looking at procedural texts (instructions). In order to understand how to write instructions, we had to follow some to make a paper plane.  Check out our planes! Next we're going to write our instructions.

Collaboration in Skippers

We are challenging ourselves in art today. We are creating our own busy street scene by using pva, scissors and magazines. We like Eric Carle's style and are using it to cut out trees, buildings, trains and cars. Come in and see our art in progress.

Rainy afternoon in Skippers

When the Wetlands afternoon was cancelled Skippers decided to have an afternoon full of Joy. We were collaborating with each other to build a tower, writing in our free writing books, doing some mindful colouring, being creative and up-cycling some old boxes, working with Miss Eve to create a town-scape collage, making pictures with shapes and doing some exercise...phew, what an afternoon!

Skippers Skippers

Today at assembly Ms Bee reminded us of our school values. One of them is Growth Mindset. Here you can see Skippers children working hard to learn to skip. They didn't give up and worked really hard, even though it was tricky. We'll update you later.

A Visit From Ross (Skippers)

For our concept learning, Georgia's Dad Ross came to visit us and show us all the fun he has managing Coronet Peak.
We watched a funny video of all the people who work there.
There are 450,000 people who visit the ski fields each year. So he told us about the rubbish and recycling.
2000 people go up th chairlift per hour.
The Green Gates chairlift has a span of 40m high.
Thank you for all the learning Ross.
