Pounamu have been lucky enough to have had some bikes and appliances donated to us. The children have loved taking these apart and finding out what mechanisms are on the inside.

Opening Ceremony

We are getting ready for our opening ceremony on Friday. We need to look good! Help us make sure our uniform is clean on Friday!! 

A day in Pounamu

Today we had singing first. We are practising, getting ready for our offical opening next week.

Maths was next. We were learning to measure things and work on our pebbles.

After playtime we had read and feed followed by guiding reading and town time.

After lunch we had a quick practise for assembly and then time for a game of tricky tag.

To end the week we had assembly that the Discoverers led and the Adventurers shared some of their writing.

Another busy week of learning in Pounamu.

Zach: "I like the Book Nook because I like quiet spaces. I like quiet TV where it doesn't make so much noise."

We are practising throwing and catching. In this game we tried to see how many throws we could do without dropping the ball. You have to get your hands ready and watch the ball closely.
